The Abruzzo Collection of furniture was designed for restaurant use. The collection contains tables for both indoor and outdoor use, as well as an outdoor lounge chair. The designs were in response to particular needs and the specificity of one restaurant but are also universal in nature.
The indoor community table is made from a single slab of Acacia on a custom support made from a ribbon of steel - bent to provide adequate support and clearance for patrons seated at the table. The organic form of the legs emphasize the organic essence of the table top. The indoor round table is designed to accommodate a family and the color of the stone top can be selected to coordinate with other finishes in the project. The reflective stainless base was selected to dematerialize in its surrounding to highlight the subtleties of the veining in the stone.
The outdoor tables were designed for durability and to integrate with the overall color scheme, selected dining chair, and the use of wood throughout the project. The table tops are made from IPE wood slats attached to a painted steel angle frame. The base for the tables are standard pedestals fabricated for exterior use. The larger community tables are accented with a runner down the center of each table to reduce the scale of the table. Different metals can be selected to coordinate with other materials in the project.
Finally, a custom size lounge chair was designed for an outdoor cocktail area. The lounge chair is oversized so that it can accommodate two people sitting intimately together, and the dimensions were carefully studied both in height and recline for use as in a cocktail and appetizer setting. They are made with IPE wood to coordinate with the outdoor dining tables. Removable upholstered cushions add extra comfort to the lounge chairs.
