Pop-Up  Lobby

The “pop-up” lobby was designed to provide a setting for the annual TED conference hosted by the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. The design elements enlivened the existing dated lobby and provided a stimulating environment for social and intellectual interchange. A variety of seating arrangements were introduced and a number of unique design elements made from semi-translucent polycarbonate building system were placed to create meeting areas and visual focal points. A two story high 60’ long mural of a stand of aspen trees was installed, and theatrical lighting was used to enhance the arrival experience and provide a changing mood throughout the space thru the day.
